AT&T and other U.S cell carriers no longer support the 2G network. This device will no longer work in the USA in most areas. Please purchase a 3G or 4G unit instead.

This is a wireless GSM remote control power strip/bar that connects to a 2G GSM cell phone network. Nearly every country in the world runs a 2G GSM cell phone network.

This device has two mains sockets that can be activated/controlled by calling the phone number of the SIM card that you insert into the device, or by SMS text message. When the device receives a call, it will trigger the first socket and hang up immediately. This means that you will never pay any money for calling the device since it never answers the phone; it will simply hang up.

The first socket has two modes. The first mode is a timer mode. If the first socket is in timer mode when the device is called, it will supply power to whatever device is plugged into it for a set amount of time. This amount of time is programmed in by the user and can be programmed in as milliseconds, seconds, or minutes.

The second mode is relay mode. If the socket is in relay mode when it is called, it will change state from whatever state it was in last. So if the socket was active and supplying power to a device when the call comes in, the socket will deactivate and the device plugged into it will turn off.

All of these settings can be programmed either through your PC or by SMS text messages to the device.

The device also has a white list of numbers that are allowed to call the device, and uses a password to protect it when it receives SMS text messages.

You can use this device to control any device that runs off of AC mains. Servers, routers, appliances, lights, pre-heaters, electronics, etc.

  1. Great Review by Andras Polgar

Works as described. (Posted on 4/22/13)

  2. I can reset my server remotely! Review by Martin Johns

I run a data center and we had a couple of servers that would go daft once in awhile. No way to remotely reset them or anything, so I'd have to drive in to fix the problem. Usually needed a simple power cycle to resolve. Now I can just make a call to remotely reset my server.

Plastic is a bit cheap, but it hasn't broken despite being kicked around a bit in the server room. Very pleased with it; and it has UK plugs just as I asked. Thanks! (Posted on 3/4/13)
